HOW WE GOT STARTED

The summer I was 16 was the first time I ever consistently did strength training and conditioning. My progression after that summer was evident on and off the ice, I was actually in disbelief at how big a change it made in my performance. Now in my middle age as a coach, I can’t believe the effect that I’ve seen it have on other people and from all walks of life. Not just athletes, but dads + moms, doctors, business owners, retirees, emergency workers, and on!!

After several years as part of a 1 on 1 training studio, I saw several problems that were holding my roster of clientele back from having sustainable success.

#1: I didn’t have enough time per person. A 30 minute session 2-3x per week just doesn’t allow for the imparting of knowledge and wisdom that has to happen for someone to see sustainable long term success!

#2: With over 50 clients under my wing, I just didn’t have the time/energy to offer the ongoing support necessary to impact someone’s life beyond the session at the gym.

#3: I would often work 10 hour straight days, seeing people back to back for 30 minute sessions… that’s 20+ people per day, depending on whether or not some were groups!

#4: There wasn’t a focus put on developing someone’s aptitude in the gym, and therefore a dependency was created for someone on the gym.

With more time per person, I learned that I can truly focus on the development of someone’s long term sustainable health and fitness. I can truly give a person the time they need in the gym and to impart important understanding that will help them fundamentally change their life.

Then if someone wants, with the proper stair-step protocol we can slowly release them back into the wild… and they can continue having success on their own. Hence the “catch and release” model you saw mentioned on our home page!

With a smaller bespoke coaching service, we have been able to offer exactly that service to each and every person that comes through our gym doors!
